The Colorado Dental Practice Act was one of the first allowing Licensed Practitioners to administer both block and infiltration Local Anesthesia. The Practice Act states, "specific training requirements must be met to receive Local Anesthesia privileges from the Colorado Board of Dental Examiners".
Our 24-hour course in Local Anesthesia is designed to comply with the educational requirements of the Rules and Regulations of the Dental Practice Act of Colorado as well as many other state boards including: MN, MO, ND, OK, OR, SD, WI, WY. Check with your local state board about Local Anesthesia administration privileges.
Through lecture, demonstration, laboratory, and clinical experiences, participants will learn the management of pain through the administration of local anesthetic agents. This course is a must for those of you who have not successfully completed a 24-hour course in Local Anesthesia, including block anesthesia, as part of your accredited dental hygiene program or in a formal continuing education course by an ADA accredited school.
Detailed information on course preparation will be sent to you upon receipt of registration and will include guidelines for types of patients required during the last clinic session. CDE Certificate and Hours include 12 Didactic and 12 Clinical, for those participants who register for the entire class, all three days.
