The ​Midwest ​Justice ​for ​Children ​Conference ​began ​in ​an ​effort ​to ​provide ​quality ​training, ​at ​an ​affordable ​price, ​to ​other ​Child ​Advocacy ​Center ​staff, ​members ​of ​the ​Multi-Disciplinary ​Team ​including ​members ​law ​enforcement, ​juvenile ​justice ​workers, ​mental ​health ​therapists, ​Children's ​Division ​workers, ​Prosecuting ​Attorney's, ​child ​and ​family ​advocacy ​workers, ​school ​counselors, ​forensic ​interviewers, ​and ​other ​professionals ​working ​in ​the ​field ​of ​human ​services.
In ​2018, ​we ​are ​offering ​a ​One-Day ​Workshop ​event ​focused ​on ​the ​relevant ​topic ​of ​Problematic ​Sexual ​Behavior ​(PSB). ​Nationally ​recognized ​speaker, ​Jane ​F. ​Silovsky, ​Ph.D. ​will ​present ​at ​the ​morning ​session ​on ​"Understanding ​Typical ​Sexual ​Development ​and ​Problematic ​Sexual ​Behaviors". ​The ​lunch ​speaker, ​Jimmy ​Widdifield, ​Jr, ​LPC ​will ​speak ​on ​the ​topic ​of ​"Origins, ​Risks, ​and ​Protective ​Factors ​of ​Problematic ​Sexual ​Behavior ​of ​Youth", ​and ​the ​afternoon ​session ​presented ​by ​Laura ​Kaehler, ​Ph.D. ​with ​the ​University ​of ​Missouri ​- ​St. ​Louis ​is ​"Hope ​and ​Healing: ​PSB ​Treatment ​in ​Missouri".
