Join us for a full day at the beautiful University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography (URI-GSO) campus overlooking Narragansett Bay as we facilitate speakers, panels, small group discussions, and workshops focusing on mentoring and career path choices in the context of women in the field of marine science. Based on feedback from past events, the program includes increased small group discussion time to encourage peer-to-peer learning and networking.
845 am: Check-in/Breakfast;
930 am: Welcoming remarks;
945 am: Keynote speakers: Catalina Martinez (NOAA) and Bethany Jenkins (URI);
1100 am: Small group discussion 1;
1215 pm: Lunch and Poster Session;
130 pm: Skill sessions;
230 pm: Coffee break;
250 pm: Small group discussion 2;
400 pm: Group report out;
500 pm: Closing remarks
We welcome all ages and genders to attend, and hope to offer programming suitable for senior researchers to moms taking a break from science to undergraduate students.
Registration fees cover breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, custodial services, and event fees through URI. We want everyone to participate in this exciting day, without financial concerns standing in the way; thanks to our sponsors, we can support a number of no-pay registrations for those registrants unable to cover registration costs at this time.
