The course is held at the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus. It is a two-day BRE immersion that includes presentations, video, discussions, role play, individual and small group work, and plenty of discussion.
Highlights include practice visits to real businesses, guest experts who provide BRE tips and stories, and a chance to get to know other economic developers and expand your network. While there is no course paper or homework, you will have the opportunity to think about the best BRE approach for your situation.
An optional third day is included for free for all course registrants: Understanding and Supporting Business Succession, Friday, June 07, 2019 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM. This workshop ($50 value) will provide you with:
recent Extension research on business succession and transition,
insights from business succession consultants, and
an opportunity to create an action plan to support business succession in your community.
Early bird registration fees: Individuals register for $500 (Regular price $600). A community team of two can register together for $750 (Regular price $900)and a community team of three to five individuals can register together for $1,000 (Regular price $1,200). (The discount is only for groups from a town or city, county, school district, or other groups of neighboring contiguous communities, or an actual organizational team from a business, nonprofit, or university.)
