In this classroom-based course, healthcare professionals learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR to victims of all ages, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. A current textbook is required for this course.

You are required to have the current AHA textbook for this course. If you already own one or have access to one before, during, and after the class, you do not need to purchase one. Textbooks are not available for purchase from SafeTec Training Services. Saint Francis Medical Center staff members should see Tina Snyder in Staff Education to obtain a loaner textbook.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
Basic Life Support (AHA) Course (04/18/17) Session 1
Please note: A minimum number of participants will be required for the class to occur. If this minimum number is not met two (2) days before the course begins a course cancellation may occur and notification will occur via email to the address given in registration. Weather cancellations will be made as soon as possible and relayed via email.
