This course covers the steps to help child care providers prepare for incidents to ensure the safety of the children at their site. Childcare providers must have plans and procedures to keep children safe from everyday hazards and to respond and recover when an emergency happens. The goal of this course is to provide child care providers, of all sizes and with responsibility for children of all ages, with the knowledge and tools to analyze the hazards and threats at the site, to develop a plan to address these hazards and threats, and to implement processes to update and practice the emergency plan.
Participants will a) describe how to develop and maintain your plan, b) identify hazards and threats that impact your childcare site, c) describe procedures for when emergencies occur.
NOTE: This training is presented through an online webinar. Participants will need to take the final exam individually to get credit for this workshop. The training will go from 6:00-8:00 and there will be 5 laptops available afterwards until 9:00 for participants to take the final exam if needed. Participants will need to submit their certificates to Northern Lights individually as well. Maximum 20 participants.
