Online mandated reporter training is a PRE-REQUISITE to completing this workshop. BSC is a 6-hour session that is an introduction for early childhood providers who plan to support children and families who require additional support (as identified by the State of Vermont). It is required for all programs wishing to attain the “Specialized Child Care Provider” status. Specialized Care training is essential for serving children who have been victims of abuse or neglect or other stresses. Topics covered include: understanding children’s behavior, differences in child development, the impact of stress and abuse on development, care-giving with families and the resources.
PRE-REQUISITE: Prior to the BSC session, class participants must complete the 2.5 hour ONLINE module "Vermont On-Line Mandated Reporter Training." A certificate of successful completion must be brought to the Basic Specialized Care training.

SCHEDULE: This training will be completed over two classes, NOVEMBER 9 AND 16, 6:00 to 9:00 pm each session. You must attend both classes to complete the BSC training.
